Sharp Lower Back Pain is considered to be a sign given by the body through the nervous system. It tells us whether or not there is something wrong. Doctors say that pain is not normally the problem but what is causing it. People tend to treat pain and not the underlying condition.
Some medical researchers admit that they do not understand how pain works or how it happens because sometimes pain occurs without any cause. Because the nervous system is very complicated, people sometimes feel pain in an area where the cause is not even close to.
People have different ways on how they manage pain. Some may tolerate it well while others need to seek for a doctor’s help. This is because people have different levels of tolerance for pain. Whatever the cause or however it happens, pain will most likely reoccur if not treated properly. The only thing that people may do is to remedy the pain.
Back pain is a normal condition for everybody. Later in our lives, we may all experience back pain whether it is chronic or sudden. The most common of this is the event of experiencing sharp lower back pain. This condition has many causes and may be remedied at home.
One said remedy for sharp lower back pain is to lie flat on your stomach and apply a method called heat and cold therapy. This is done by alternately applying ice packs and heating pads every ten minutes.
The purpose of the ice packs is to lessen the pain. The numbing effect of the ice packs does the trick for this. Since sharp lower back pain may be associated with inflammation, applying the heating pad will also remedy this situation.
This routine will be done continuously for three times and must be ended with cold therapy. After 24 hours from doing the method, cold therapy will be done. The inflammation that heat therapy is relieving may have subsided by that time which is why cold packs will already be used.
Doctors say that because pain may be associated with other conditions, it is best to get checked to see what the real problem is. Self treating especially for sharp lower back pain may aggravate the real condition. Preventing this from happening is what everybody should aim for and not treat pain itself.
No matter how severe pain appears to be, only doctors can tell whether the situation is simple or complicated.
