Many people like to take long walks or extensive runs as mode of exercise. About half of the world’s population do this activity each year to either lose or maintain weight, build or sculpt the muscles, and even treat and prevent health problems.

Drinking sufficient amounts of water before, during and after walking will help prevent, reduce and treat the problem. Studies have shown that dehydration is one cause for recurring back pains during activities. They say that water help hydrate muscles and promote better circulation of blood.

When blood is flowing freely in the body, the possibilities of experiencing back pain and having injuries are reduced.

Before doing any activities such as walking, make sure to check with your doctor. Ask them for advices on how to prevent back pain when walking and how to treat it in case it happens.

Some back pains may also be cured by walking itself but this method needs a doctors approval to prevent any onset of harmful problems.
